              SPANISH MEDICAL AID COMMITTEE
Minutes of meeting held on May 10th 1939 at 69 Great Russell Street.
Present: Dr. Morgan (Chairman), Mr. C.H. Norman, Mr. R. Calder, Mr. T. Blewitt, Dr. J.A. Gillison, Dr. H. Joules, Miss N. Adam, Dr. J. Wright, Dr. H. Boyde.
Apologies for absence were received from Mrs. Manning.
1) Minutes of meeting held on April 26th were confirmed and signed, with one alteration.
2) Matters arising:-
a) After considerable discussion regarding the return and proposed sale of the five vehicles from France,  it was agreed that further discussion be postponed until the return of the Organising Secretary, when he should be asked for a report regarding his action in this matter, and details of the transactions with West & Chittenden etc.     The Sub-Committee (consisting of Dr. Morgan, Professor Marrack and Mr. Jeger) set up at the meeting on April 26th to deal with these vehicles, was empowered to negotiate for their sale, subject to confirmation by the Full Committee, which would meet specially if necessary.
b) A letter had been received from Dr. Quemada dated 3rd May 1939 stating his hope of coming to England.
c) Section 1 of the report of the Honorary Secretary of May 8th 1939 was discussed regarding medicaments etc. for the Refugee Ship (S.S. " Sinaia ").   No further information regarding the purchases had been received from the C.S.I. It was therefore agreed that Dr. Morgan approach Miss Pollock ( of the British Committee for Refugees from Spain ) re an estimate for these medicaments, and he was authorised to expend up to £400 on them, Mrs. Manning thus being indemnified to this amount.
d) Regarding Dr. and Mrs. Glaser, a copy of a letter from the Home Secretary to Mrs. Kapp of Bloomsbury House was read.     This stated that permission for them to land in England had been sent to the British Passport Control Officer, Paris.     The Glasers meanwhile had been sent to a camp in the South of France, and then to a hotel at Perpignan.     A telegram received during the meeting stated "Glasers suddenly disappeared again are tracing stop passport arrangements noted thanks. Donald." Mr. Blewitt promised to inform Mrs. Kapp of this development in the morning.
3) Special Correspondence:-
a) A copy of the judgment in the Dieppe Case had been received from the C.S.I.     This had been sent on to Mr. Binford Hole, who forwarded a copy to Messrs. Kennerley Hall & Co. in Paris. A letter had been received from the latter asking whether or not a formal notification of the judgment had been received by us.
As it was understood that Mr. Jeger was intending to see the C.S.I. in passing through Paris, it was agreed to leave the matter for further discussion on his return, and in the meantime to acknowledge the receipt of the letter from Mr. Binford Hole, and notify him that the matter is receiving attention.
b) Information from Mrs. Manning stated that the film of the Concentration Camps will not be ready for 14 days, and that
