Dear Sir Walter,
Since I wrote you on 27th, it has been definitely decided that the members of the above Unit leave Tilbury by the P.& 0. Steamer " Maloja " for Marseilles on Friday, 3rd September - all except Miss Jacobsen, the Commandant, who goes overland via Hendaye where she has an appointment at the British Embassy - and thence to Marseilles - to join the others on one of H.M. Ships to Valencia. It is just possible that she may require to be at the Foreign Office on Thursday in which case she would like to see you some time that day, but otherwise, at any hour convenient for you on Friday, to give you a short account of how the Unit's work is carried on in Spain and possibly get some helpful hints from you.
You might kindly telegraph me tomorrow, on enclosed form, what hours would be most convenient for you on either day.
Yours sincerely,
D.M. Stevenson
